Wintersweet is typical flower of winter.
It gives off sweet smell.
People visit the valley to find some signs of spring.
But, they can find only wintersweet in bloom.
Their shadows are still long on the ground.
Because, it is still midwinter.
I am really longing for spring.
Nature created such beautiful art on a withered leaf.
It is my joy to find it, and it is also my pleasure to take photos of such a nature scene.
I was a reluctant to take a walk on such cold day.
So I have decided to take photos of potted flower in the sunny room.
It was intense cold these past few days, and the pond in the park was frozen this morning.
Wild Ducks seem to be frozen, too.
I learned from newspapers and TV news that a severe cold wave strikes northern part of the US and Canada. I hope all of my friends in the US and Canad are to be safe.
I found some daffodils bloomed on a slop of the hill facing south when I took a stroll to the hill near by my house yesterday. It was severe cold day with strong north wind, but I felt spring in my heart when I took this photo.

The shopfront of a florist was filled with a springlike atmosphere.
Some ears of silver grass were shone in the setting sun that was impressive view.
Spring has come only in my room. Hyacinth in hydroponics started to bloom a few days ago. The flowers give off a very pleasant scent.
It is mid-winter now.
But, It is early spring only here in my room now.
Because, the room is warm and bright from sunlight that comes in through the big window.
