I was a reluctant to take a walk on such cold day.
So I have decided to take photos of potted flower in the sunny room.

Spring has come only in my room. Hyacinth in hydroponics started to bloom a few days ago.　The flowers give off a very pleasant scent.

It is mid-winter now. 
But, It is early spring only here in my room now.
Because, the room is warm and bright from sunlight that comes in through the big window.

Roses were in bloom in my garden to see the first time in a month. I've just returned home from hospitalization by tibia fracture. I'm still in rehabilitation, and a stick is needed for a walk.
I got my tibia broken when I played football game with my 10-year-old grandson and his friends a month ago.
My wife pointed me out at that time "It's something that an old man shouldn't do".

Meteorological Agency of Japan announced that rainy season of this year seems to be over. If so, it is earlier for mostly half month than usual.
When I took this picture, it was so beautiful clear sky as shown in the image above!!
But, it was very warm and high humidity today. When I took this picture in Koga(古河), climate condition was 92 °F with 75 per cent of humidity. So, I had to leave off photography earlier than usual not to suffer from heat stroke.

There is a spiny shrub called Japanese Pepper in my garden. This is an aromatic plant which gives very refreshing smell when we rub or crumple up leaves. In addition, we use berries of this plant widely in Japanese cooking. Mixed with berries of Japanese pepper and dried whitebaits is my favorite side dish that is to be topping on a bowl of rice.

According to WIKIPEDIA, name of "Rose of Sharon" is commonly used to two different plant both Hypericum calycinum and Hibiscus syriacus. It is said that a flower in the image above is included in Rose of Sharon in the UK and Australia.
For example, BBC Plant Finder introduces Rose Sharon as common name for the Genus of Hypericum.

This is a scenery on my favorite route of walk. Many people enjoy to take a walk here even though this beautiful place is a private property of one famous private company. Actually, this place has already become like a public park. We appreciate for such company who takes a permissive stance on trespassers like me.

I approached a honey bee within few inches from tip of the lens、but the bee did not fly away. She was absorbed in a suck of honey from cornflower.
Otherwise, I could not take such a picture by manual focusing lens.

After she flew away, I picked the flower and bit it a bit. But it was no taste at all.
She probably sucked all sweet from the flower completely(^0^)!

I hoped for clear sky when I took this picture. Unfortunately, the blue sky did not appear after all at that day.
My little consolation is that I was able to take this picture at the moment when a thin sunlight was coming through the clouds.
This picture would become more attractive image If the sky was clear.

The rose shown in above is a new species which was bred to be blue.
Mr. Moriji Kobayashi, who is a plant breeder, succeeded in breeding of this blue rose in 1992. And he named this rose "SEIRYU (青龍）" which means "Blue Dragon"

The image above shows berries of Mock Strawberry in my garden.
In Japanese, we call it "Yabu Hebi-Ichigo" that means "Tussock Snake Strawberry" in terms of literal translation, because, it is traditionally said that snake eats this berry.
But, actually snake never eats such berry.
The Mock Strawberry blooms small yellow flower as shown in the image below.

The allium is like a lollipop or a Chupa Chups in shape.
Lollipops, in a flower garden in my neighbourhood, were swaying always in refreshing breeze of early summer. So I had to wait for a while until the breeze stopped completely when I took this picture.

The photo was taken by Olympus pen E-P3 with Ai Nikkor 35mm f/2.0 when I took a stroll in my neighbourhood.

I am irritated at so slow response of flickr after changed to its new looks. Visibility has been improved a lot but quick response have been lost. I really hope flickr to improve the response time.

The mirrorless DSLC gives us the opportunity to use old lenses again. That is why I use both Olympus Pen E-P3 and Fujifilm X-E1 rather than my EOS7D.
The Olympus announced their new product Pen E-P5 to be released in coming June. I would buy it or not, I'll be troubled again with this announcement.

The hill where Baby Blue-Eyes bloom

The image was taken on 25th April at the Hitachi Seaside National Government Park (国営ひたち海浜公園）.
The park has area of 350ha and one of the Japan's National Government Parks. The park area was the Air Force Base in Japanese army during the World War II.

This hill is called "Miharashi-no-oka" which means a hill with a fine view. When we stand on top of the hill, we can enjoy the panoramic view of 360 degrees including the Pacific ocean view. The whole hill is covered with baby blue-eyes in spring, and Kochia (burningbush) and cosmos will cover up the hill in autumn.

I saw the news on TV and other medias about the 7-magnitude earthquake struck the Sichuan province in China on 20th April.
It’s a terrible situation, a lot of people still afraid of aftershocks and await water and food. 
I've been to Chengdu（成都） the capital city of Sichuan province（四川省） twice. That place is so beautiful area with depth green and homeland of Giant Panda. So I really hope that all victims should be rescued as early as possible. However, I'm afraid that Chinese government declined offers for support from the international community.

The bright yellow flower associates the British gold coin GUINEA.
According to the Royal Horticultural Society, the plant shown in above is called Kerria japonica 'Golden Guinea'.

It is slightly troublesome to take the photograph of this flower.
The flowers of Kerria bloom on the weak arching branches that sway even in the light breeze.
Therefore, particularly, it is hard to focus on a flower of kerria in case of manual focusing lens.
So, I had to wait a little while for breeze to stop completely.
